Travelling to Cambridge

The easiest way to reach Cambridge is via Stansted Airport and then a short trip by train or by coach to Cambridge itself. International travelers flying to any of the other London Airports can also use train or coach to reach Cambridge.

  • From Heathrow Airport use either:
    • coach - approx 2hr40 - cost £27
    • Train: Piccadilly Underground line to London Kings Cross station (1hr - £4) and train to reach Cambridge (between 45min and 2hr - £18).
  • From Gatwick Airport use coach or train via London Kings Cross/St. Pancreas to Cambridge.

Visitors to Cambridge are encouraged to travel by train. Cambridge is an old city with small and narrow streets and very limited parking. Sidney Sussex does not offer parking, and the hotels only a very limited amount. Whenever possible please use 'Park & Ride' sites instead of bringing your car into the city centre.
